The Lincolnshire Neighbourhood Watch Association was set up as a method of developing close liaison between households in a neighbourhood, the local police and the local authority.

They work very closely with Lincolnshire Police and have the full support of the Lincolnshire Chief Constable. The aim is to help people protect themselves and their properties, to reduce the fear of crime and improve their local environment by:

• Improved home security;

• Greater vigilance;

• Fostering a community spirit;

• Improving their environment.

Kirkby Underwood operates a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme and Lincolnshire Alert. Benefits of the Alert scheme include:

• Becoming familiar with crime prevention.

• Being informed of local incidents. • Being informed of local policing events and meetings

• Being informed of crime trends within the county

• The possibility of a discount on your home insurance.
